G If you believe the statements from the Russian Ministry of Defense, only energy supply facilities and military targets were attacked in the recent air strikes against Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities. And if you believe these reports, no one was harmed in these attacks. Only certain inconveniences have to be endured. It is better not to believe such explanations.
What is bombardment of objects? Energy supply? In plain language this means: Older people or people with disabilities can no longer leave their apartment on the eleventh floor because the elevator doesn’t work. Patients with heart disease run the risk of dying from a heart attack if a rocket hits the neighborhood and only shards of glass are left on the ground from their own window due to the pressure wave. Two electricians – as happened recently – die of exhaustion after repairing wires day and night.
Toilets no longer work because they frozen are. Small children are put to bed hypothermic. Anyone who says that only military targets and energy supply objects were hit is lying. Attacks on energy supply objects kill. Without visible bloodshed. Russian media are now also reporting on this humanitarian catastrophe caused by the Russian air strikes on Kyiv. So no one in Russia can say he or she didn’t know this.
It is tragic that even the truth about this humanitarian disaster does not lead to more empathy among the majority of the Russian population. Anyone who attacks energy supply facilities, and the Ukrainian side is now doing that too, kills civilians. This must not be trivialized. There is no end in sight to the attacks on the energy supply. And it could get worse. It is unlikely that the Russian attacks will subside. The leadership in Moscow is merciless.
