Sensational American songwriter and performer, Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar professionally known as Cardi B has urged all Americans to vote.
The self-styled rapper and singer has changed her stance regarding this year’s election. The multiple Grammy winner earlier vowed never to vote in this year’s elections. At the time, she didn’t see any candidate good enough for the presidency.
However, that changed when the Democratic Party changed their presidential candidate to Kamala Harris. Kamala Harris is the Vice President and was the running mate to Joe Biden, the sitting president.
However, due to the continued deterioration of his health, there were calls on the party to replace him. Cardi B was one of those people who called for the replacement of the candidate.
“…(Kamala Harris) joining the race changed my mind completely. I did not have faith in any candidates…until she said the things that I wanted to hear.” Cardi said.
Moreover, Cardi B mentioned that she had planned not to vote in this year’s elections but Harris’ candidature changed her completely. She says the things that endear to her.
“I believe in every word that comes out of her mouth. She’s passionate, she’s compassionate, she shows empathy, and most of all, she’s not delusional.” Cardi B told the teaming supporters.
Cardi B took her support for the Democratic nominee to a higher level when she mounted the rally podium in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Friday night event saw Cardi B draw a comparison between herself and Kamala Harris.
She said that two of them have been underrated and misjudged by many.
“Just like Kamala Harris, I too have been the underdog. I have been underestimated, my success belittled and discredited,” Cardi B noted.
Cardi B also noted that women have to do way more than necessary to get recognized but when they get to the top people still question their source of worth and success.
“Women have to work ten times harder, perform ten times better and still people question how we got to the top.” She added.

Of course, she would not mount the podium without talking about Kamala Harris’ opponent. The presidential candidate for the Republican party, Donald Trump took a fair share of the passionate speech of the pop star.
Cardi B attacked Trump’s promises of protecting women. Trump has been criticised by the other divides for his quest to ‘control’ the bodies of women. Cardi noted that any form of protection that doesn’t guarantee women to do whatever they want with their bodies is not something she is ready for.
“If his definition of protection is not the freedom of choice, if his definition of protection is making sure our daughters have fewer rights than our mothers, then I don’t want it,” Cardi said.
She opined that a win for Donald Trump would mean a step towards creating a society of division and gender inequality.
Other celebrities that showed up include GloRilla, MC Lyte, the Isley Brothers, Flo Milli and DJ Gemini Gilly.
