Mixed reactions meet President-elect, Donald Trump’s choice of John Ratcliffe as the new CIA Director. While people praised Donald Trump for his amazing choice of John Ratcliffe, others raised questions of neutrality.

Those who are against John Ratcliffe’s appointment accuse him of being a loyalist to Trump and too partisan to hold such a delicate public office. They believe Trump used
John Ratcliffe supported his political agenda when he was appointed the Director of National Intelligence from 2020 to 2021.

He currently serves as co-chair at the Center for American Security at the America First Policy Institute, a Trump-linked think tank.

Moreover, during his tenure as the Director of National Defence, Ratcliffe released unverified information about Russia’s influence in the 2016 presidential election over the objection of members of the intelligence community to the public. This action, many view as an effort to help Trump secure his second term in 2020.

However, John Ratcliffe seems to be the best, if not the only option for president-elect Donald Trump. He touts him as a man of truth and a warrior.

As a congressman representing Texas, John Ratcliffe fought on Mr. Trump’s behalf, helping to pursue investigations into Hunter Biden, the president’s son.

Surprisingly, he was renowned for continually criticizing the investigations into the ties between Russia and Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign.

John Ratcliffe’s appointment is just one of the many loyalists of the president-elect chosen for senior positions.

Meanwhile, John Ratcliffe is not expected to be a pushover when he eventually assumes his new office.

The NYT reports that despite having been a firm supporter of the president-elected he has had some disagreements with Trump.

While serving as the Director of National Intelligence, he did not accept every demand from the president.
