A press pass that is said to have been issued years ago to the imprisoned Ghislane Maxwell. A union has doubts about it.

The scan of an international press card (IPC – International Press Card) was not issued by the German Journalists’ Union (dju) within Verdi, the union said.
The document number differs from other ID cards issued in 2015, it said. “We therefore assume that the IPC has been falsified. As is usual in such cases, we reserve the right to take legal action.”
It was previously known that a document was issued to Epstein’s confidant Ghislane Maxwell, who is currently in prison, and was valid in 2017, as can be seen from two scans in the investigation files. These each show the front of the ID card. The Spiegel first reported about it.
It is unclear why Maxwell would have had a press pass
Journalists receive a press pass to gain access to authorities and ministries. Journalists with press passes are also allowed on site at events or emergencies.
Maxwell was convicted in 2022 for playing a central role in setting up the abuse ring that multimillionaire Epstein ran for years from New York. Dozens of young women and minors fell victim to the abuse ring. In 2019, Epstein died in prison at the age of 66, before any further sentencing could have taken place.
The financier had excellent contacts in high society, which led to numerous speculations about the scope of the scandal. The publication of the files, which US President Donald Trump had long resisted, was finally ordered by law.
