Interval Funds

The wealth channel has adopted interval funds as a way to invest in alternatives with liquidity options. When institutions work through their current private market liquidity bottleneck and understand this structure, I suspect we’ll see adoption of interval funds as a portfolio tool, akin to how index ETFs have made their way into actively managed public equity portfolios. Implications of this potential include changes in commitment models (where less is more) and a renewed understanding of the gap between IRR and TWR. More to come…
