dpa | After attacks on an alternative housing project and a youth club in Cottbus, people want to take to the streets against right-wing violence on Friday evening at 6 p.m. A demonstration through Cottbus city center is planned under the motto “You attack us – we stand together”. The initiative “Indivisible South Brandenburg” Expects around 300 participants, as a spokeswoman for the alliance said. The police accompany the demonstration.
It is time to take a stand against right-wing structures and for a society free of discrimination and racism, said “Unteilbar Südbrandenburg”. “People of color, people with disabilities, LGBTIQ* and everyone who identifies them as their political enemy are exposed to ever greater threats.” There are calls to also drive to the demonstration from Berlin.
Several attacks on the “Zelle 79” housing project
After the attacks in Cottbus, the state security agency responsible for politically motivated crimes became involved. Most recently, the alternative housing project “Zelle 79” was damaged with pyrotechnics at the end of December, and in another case a mailbox was blown up with a firecracker.
Back in May, several unknown people attacked the area with firecrackers and flares. Those affected spoke of an attempted right-wing extremist arson attack. The protection of the house should be increased.

At the end of November, right-wing slogans were also sprayed at the alternative youth club Chekov in Cottbus. There were also attacks on youth facilities in other places in southern Brandenburg.
