Fans and well-wishers of Liam Payne have been mourning the former member of One Direction star. The musician passed away under one of the most bizarre circumstances.
Liam Payne died after falling from his hotel balcony in Argentina. The incident took place on Wednesday, October 2024.
The world has been mourning the loss of Liam. Sheri on X shared a video of him with the following caption,
“haven’t been able to stop crying since watching these two videos on scott mills’ page. A lovely tribute to Liam Payne”
The official page of The X Factor wrote;
“We are heartbroken by the sad passing of Liam Payne. He was immensely talented and, as part of One Direction, Liam will leave a lasting legacy on the music industry and fans around the world. Our thoughts are with his friends, family and all who loved him”.
Another fan wrote;
“Sending all my love and prayers to Liam Payne’s family and friends but especially to his mom, Karen. She was always so sweet and proud of him… I can’t imagine how hard this time can be for her. This is devastating.”
According to the witnesses, as reported by TMZ, Liam Payne arrived at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel, together with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy.

The two arrived in the Argentine capital ahead of the Niall Horan concert. Kate Cassidy however left Argentina three days before the incident.
He was reportedly acting erratic in the hotel lobby earlier. He smashed his laptop. This compelled management to carry him back to his room.
In June 2021, Liam Payne revealed that he struggled with alcohol and prescription drug addictions. He said things were so bad that he considered ending it all.
Also, there are reports about him having a strained relationship with his ex-fiancée. Liam reportedly asked Maya Henry to get an abortion. She was able to get her lawyers to serve Liam a cease-and-desist letter. This was to prevent him from contacting her.
Despite these potential triggers, it is not yet clear what could be the reason for his absurd behaviour before his death. It is not known whether he took his own life or otherwise. Nothing concrete has been established yet. The police continue with the investigation.

Liam James Payne was born on 29th August 1993 in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, England. He is best remembered for his membership of the boyband known as the One Direction.
Liam joined the One Direction band when he was 16 years old. He had since managed to become a leading figure in the group.
However, in 2015, the group broke up and Liam became a solo singer.
