The games of German handball players in the main round will be broadcast as follows: The game between Germany and Portugal will be on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. on ARD. ZDF has secured the rights for the duel against Norway on Saturday evening. And ARD will broadcast the new edition of the final of the Olympic Games between Germany and Denmark on Monday evening from 8:30 p.m. ZDF will take over again on Wednesday when the main round comes to a close against France.

Germany secured group victory in Group A with their success against Spain. The remaining groups at the 2026 European Handball Championship in the preliminary round are:

The 2026 European Men’s Handball Championship will take place from January 15th to February 1st in Denmark, Sweden and Norway.   • Herning (Denmark): Jyske Bank Boxes with a capacity of 15,000 spectators, where German games such as Germany against Spain are currently being played.
  • Oslo (Norway): Unity Arena with a capacity of 8000 spectators.
  • Malmo (Sweden): The 12,000-seat Malmö Arena.
  • Kristianstad (Sweden): Kristianstad Arena with a capacity of 5000 seats.

The six preliminary round groups were played at these four venues for the European Handball Championship. The two main round groups take place in Herning and Malmö. The semi-finals, the final and the placement games for fifth and third places also take place in Herning. The German team only plays in Herning.
