Ukraine Peace Talks: Advanced Battle Strategy

Russia is not achieving its combat goals as desired – and is choosing its targets more specifically. In addition to the usual bombings.

Z Granted, the man has a sense of humor: Yuri Ushakov, Vladimir Putin’s foreign policy advisor, suggested that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj travel to Moscow for a meeting with the Kremlin leader. If Zelenskyj accepts this offer, he could probably just buy a one-way ticket. Which brings us to the topic of peace talks. These so-called negotiations that have been taking place for months – most recently and soon again in Abu Dhabi – do not deserve this title. On Wednesday this week, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio astutely noted that the status of Donbass remains a problem and spoke of a bridge that those involved have not yet crossed.

For good reason: Since Moscow is steadfast in its demand to incorporate the entire Donbass in eastern Ukraine, this step would only mean one thing. To plunge millions of Ukrainians into ruin and give Russia a free pass for future military campaigns. It is obviously dawning on Moscow that this maximum goal – a presumption in itself – cannot be achieved so easily through the so-called negotiated route. Ergo, the combat strategy is expanded accordingly – that’s how much flexibility you need.

Apparently it is no longer enough to cover Ukraine night after night with bombs and drone terror – with the side effect that the Mpeople die of cold. Rather, the targets of attack are chosen more carefully – like the last one Passenger train in Kharkiv.

And the Western allies of Kyiv? They talk and talk… Nobody needs Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s statements that Ukraine’s accession to the EU in 2027 is impossible. Incidentally, Zelensky also knows that this is the case. But for him, joining the EU is synonymous with security guarantees. Unfortunately, there is little to be heard about them at the moment, but they are vital for Kyiv. What are we waiting for? To more deaths and further falling temperatures? It’s a shame!
