As much as a lot of people in certain democracies especially those in West Africa, frown upon celebrities engaging in partisan politics, it seems it’s a normal practice in the United States of America (USA).
In every electioneering year, celebrities throw their weight behind a candidate. The good thing is that the American democracy has matured so much that the electorates don’t take it personally against these celebrities.
As the elections in the United States of America draw nearer, we take a look at top celebrities supporting Donald Trump, candidate for the Republican party. The opposition leader has managed to rally the best of comedians, musicians, actors, and social media stars as he prepares to do his second term as the president of the USA.
1. Kanye
Musician Kanye West, “Ye” has always been a good friend to the controversial Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
The two have had a bouncy relationship since their much-published 2028 meeting in the Oval Office. When the rapper was asked in February if he would be supporting Donald Trump in the 2024 polls, his response was affirmative.
Yeah, of course, it’s Trump all day.”
2. Elon Musk
Another is American billionaire Elon Musk. The billionaire has on multiple occasions declared Donald Trump as a good friend. Through X (formerly Twitter), Elon projects and protects the ambition of the controversial businessman. Even when Twitter(before he took over as the owner) banned Trump, the billionaire vehemently protested against it.
The first thing he did after buying the micro-blog, Twitter was to restore the account of his friend. And when there was an attempt on Trump’s life Elon Musk posted in support.
I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery
3. Adin Ross
Next is American internet personality and online streamer, Adin David Ross. When Trump was reportedly short while on a campaign trail, he posted to show support. He simply wrote,
Vote Donald Trump
4. Amber Rose
The 40-year-old model and video vixen, Amber Rose Levonchuck is one of the most popular celebrities who support Donald Trump. Amber Rose is one of the celebrities who spoke at the 2024 Republican National Convention.
5. Kodak Black
Rapper and singer Bill Kahan Kapri professionally known as Kodak Black, is also supporting Donald Trump. Kodak Black was one of the few people to benefit from the presidential pardon under the government of Donald Trump. Kodak was particularly pardoned by Trump on the last day in office. It is only right that he returns the favour, right? He has been accompanying Trump on his campaign trails.
Other celebrities and influencers rooting for Donald Trump include Dana White, Logan Paul, Kelsey Grammer, Rosanne Barr, Serena Williams, Tom Brady, Tim Allen, John Voight and Kid Rock.
The keenly contested election is set to be held on Tuesday, 5th November 2024. As a two-party system, it is a straight horse race between the Democratic, led by Kamala Haris and the Republican, led by Donald Trump.
As done in an indirect voting system, the electorates will first vote for 538 members of the Electoral College. The electoral college will in turn vote to elect the new president.
The 60th presidential election will be held together with the elections for the U.S. Senate, House, gubernatorial, and state legislatures.
The elected president will be sworn in as the new head of state and will be inaugurated on January 20, 2025.
