In her “creative experience,” Melania portrays her Donald as an innocent persecuted by the justice system. It sounds mild, but it’s MAGA propaganda.
M Elania Trump calls her film a “creative experience,” her husband Donald finds it “very glamorous.” Well, if you like interiors that are aesthetically based on Denver clan opulence and Gaddafi’s Gold Palace, you’ll definitely get your money’s worth with “Melania”. Anyone hoping for a look behind the facade of the Trump clan will be disappointed.
Speaking of costs, you know the Trumps are always about enrichment. Last week the film, which follows Melania in the 20 days before the change of power in the White House, was released in cinemas. Amazon is said to have paid $75 million for rights and marketing. It seems like an attempt to buy presidential favor. Melania is co-producer of the film, she controls the imagery and thus the presentation of power.

We see the Trumps warming up for the inauguration and return to the White House. Melania, who had the image of the trophy wife in her first term, is now styled like a CEO. But how big is the power factor of a first lady from the MAGA cosmos? And doesn’t this image provide access to his male power circles? In the film, Melania portrays her Donald as an innocent persecuted by the justice system. It sounds mild, but it’s MAGA propaganda.
For Donald, the overly long tie that he likes to wear when he verbally harasses state guests seems to be high heels for Melania. She always wears them in the film, even on the sofa while watching Fox News. She only takes off her shoes on the day she moves into the White House. Possibly a threatening signal: the Trumps are here to stay.
The shots in which the camera pans up from the heels have the effect of looking up at Melania in a similar way to the often shown Trump Tower. The film ends on the day of the inauguration. They left then Pictures of her oversized haton the brim of which Trump’s attempted kiss failed, around the world. In “Melania” this is only shown in passing. And then the song “It’s a man’s man’s man’s world” plays. The First Lady smiles, a woman a few seats further in the cinema cries.
