D The Interventionist Left (IL) in Bremen says it has exposed an informant for the Office for the Protection of the Constitution. He is said to have met with the Bremen Office for the Protection of the Constitution every two to four weeks since 2017. “Buten und binnen” reported first.
The task of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution should be to protect the constitution and the democratic, free basic order. The security and freedom of all citizens “regardless of gender, sexual orientation, skin color, descent, language, homeland and origin, faith, religious or political views or any disability”: That’s what it says in the Constitutional Protection Report.
If you, like the IL, are observed by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution, it is because they consider you to be a threat to the democratic, free basic order. The IL appears every year in the Bremen Office for the Protection of the Constitution. There it is described as “violence-oriented”. But what did she do to deserve this?
Despite its inside man, the VS has little to report about the IL’s activities. They were by no means idle: the revolutionary year began at the beginning of January when the group traveled to Riesa. There she protested with 15,000 other people against the AfD party conference.
In Brake, the Interventionist Left, the pinnacle of violence, went on a joint harbor tour
The taz was there and reported: A member of the state parliament was beaten unconscious during the protests. So there was violence. Only: It came from police officers and not from the supposedly violence-oriented IL. The taz was not aware of any proactive, physical acts of violence on the part of the demonstrators? Hmm, crap. We’ll take a look further.
In May, the IL, together with groups such as “Ende Gelaender” organized an action camp against the deepening of the Wet in Brake. Trigger warning: violence was discussed there. In plenary! Probably even with a speech list! It also stood out as particularly violence-oriented the joint harbor tour in Brake harbor.
In August things got really dangerous when machetes, knives, telescopic batons, swastika flags and copies of “Mein Kampf” were found during several house searches – oops, sorry, false alarm!, that was just the Nazis from the Weser Ems Aktion.
Back to the real enemies: In October, the IL went camping in Neustadtspark together with groups like the BUND. Küfa, lectures on the Mercosur-EU agreement, shared bike rides and similar acts of violence left the neighborhood sleeping uneasily.
Disturbed party youth
At the end of November, the group called for people to go to Giessen to disrupt the founding of the AfD youth party. There, people were attacked with batons and clubs, and one demonstrator was beaten unconscious. Oh, sorry, there again only police officers protecting the constitution were at work and not the violence-oriented leftists. The democratic, free basic order was lucky again!
In December, the IL’s true violent fantasies came to light when it was announced that they wanted to beat up political dissidents with roof battens. Oh no: That was the police again and not at all the violence-oriented IL!
You could take this even further and… about neo-Nazi martial arts meetings, about the police officer who shot Lorenzabout the arson attack on a youth center could only be clarified thanks to anti-fascist research, about Nazi-trivializing and right-wing extremist Chta groups at the Bremen fire department or the rapid rise in anti-queer violence write.
Or to put it briefly: the IL protests, which are criminalized as “left-wing extremist” and are spied on, monitored and thus delegitimized, are not extreme, but necessary. They are directed against the AfD, against the destruction of environments and living spaces, against deportations, forced evictions and militarization. Some would even say: They are directed against a violence-oriented system.
