Charlton Athletic are down to 19th in the Championship table after today’s 3-1 home loss to Norwich City.

Charlton were top of the standings after their most recent three-point haul – the August 29 victory over Preston North End. At that stage they were the only team in England’s second tier still with a 100 per cent record intact.

That feels like a long time ago.

Charlton have picked up five points from a possible 27 since the opening month to slide closer and closer to the relegation zone.

The Addicks took the lead – just like they did in the 1-1 draw against Bristol City last time out in SE7 – through Charlie Kelman. The frontman was one of four changes made by Nathan Jones as he looked for a reaction to the 2-0 reverse at Watford. Kelman showed excellent composure to finish from Joe Rankin-Costello’s pass in the 10th minute.
