Paint damage, leak marks, dents – and all around cow dung: When the hikers returned to the parking lot of their accommodation at Spitzingsee in the Upper Bavarian district of Miesbach, there was said to be a herd of cows there – which, according to the car owners, damaged cars.
Several drivers have sued the operator of the hotel to which the parking lot belonged for damages. Today (10 a.m.) there is a civil case before the Munich Regional Court II again about such a case. The plaintiff claims damage to several areas of his car.
The man was part of a hiking group from Lower Franconia who stayed at the hotel in the picturesque mountain landscape in June 2022. At least four lawsuits from car owners have already been settled with settlements amounting to around 3,000 to 6,000 euros.
In previous cases, according to the media, there was also talk of the cows licking the cars and the vehicles being contaminated with traces of saliva. The cattle are said to have even climbed onto the roof of a car. In some cases, an expert specializing in wildlife accidents was called in for the trials.
