Nathan Jones has ruled out any foray into the free agent market and discussed the fact that Charlton Athletic did not spend more heavily on a right-winger before the closure of the window.
The Addicks had been at an advanced stage with a deal for Jesurun Rak-Sakyi but pulled out of the permanent transfer, which was set to cost in the region of £4million.
The Championship side did still add to their wide options but it ended up being the talented but relatively inexperienced Junior Nkeng, 19, who joined from AFC Wimbledon on a three-year contract.
Rak-Sakyi ended up making a loan switch to Turkish side Kasimpasa for the remainder of the season.

Supporters had speculated whether Charlton could still look to add to their right-sided offensive options by bringing in an unattached player, who can move outside of the transfer window, which closed last Tuesday at 11pm.
But Jones told South London Sport: Charlton Athletic Edition that the number of incoming deals will stay at 11.
EFL clubs can only register a maximum of 25 players aged 21 and over.
“We are on 25 now,” said Jones, when asked about any possibility of a free agent being inbound. “We’ve had to really work hard to get it to 25…to get what we needed with the injuries we picked up.
